More on Megan:

Born and Raised: Riverside, CA

Education: Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Political Science and Government, CA State University San Diego; Master of Arts (M.A.), Political Science and Government, California State University, Sacramento.

Work History before Calkin PA: Began her career working for San Diego City Council Member Marti Emerald, supporting her communications director and field representatives. This was followed by an internship in Governor Jerry Brown's press office. After that time, she joined Bicker, Castillo, & Fairbanks Public Affairs, working her way up to senior account executive, before pivoting to the County Welfare Director's Association as their communications and outreach manager. She came back to public affairs as Vice President at Wilson Public Affairs, and most recently was Vice President of Public Affairs for the California Restaurant Association.

Favorite Part of Public Affairs? Every day being a new adventure. Megan enjoys the constant learning: new policies, new issue areas, the different players, and the exercise in strategy and changing tactics to get results. She also has a passion for politics and being involved in the big issues that most people are hearing about.

Favorite work memory with Calkin PA: The general joy to work with such smart, funny, and genuinely thoughtful people.

Issue of Interest: How we take on climate change as a state when we face a federal government that denies it's even happening - and do so in a way that doesn't make things even more unaffordable for Californians. As a mother of a one-year-old and I she worries about what the future will hold for him.

Fun fact: Megan is ambidextrous.
