Employee Spotlight: Dani Casados
In today’s workplace, it is commonplace for employees at all levels to jump around every few years from one opportunity to the next. Unlike generations of the past, loyalty isn’t to corporations; it is to the pursuit of personal growth and advancement, or, in some rarer cases, to the great people they work for.
Dani Casados is one of those rare employees who has been with her employer for over a decade, supporting Kelly Calkin and team with a front-row, and often driver’s seat to experience the incredible evolution of companies past to the newly relaunched Calkin Public Affairs. She first joined Townsend Calkin Tapio Public Affairs (later I Street Public Affairs) in 2015, bringing with her ten years of administrative experience in public affairs.
When Calkin Public Affairs launched, Dani’s role evolved along with the firm. Building on her long-standing partnership with Kelly, she brought her expertise in operations to support the firm’s continued growth and success, essentially serving as the glue that holds it all together.
Day-to-day, Dani creates and manages the processes and systems that keep the Calkin PA office running seamlessly. She also drives marketing efforts that showcase the firm and its leaders, while keeping priorities, schedules, and the team organized so everyone can do their best work. Not to mention, she can whip out a first-rate fact sheet, infographic, presentation, or proposal.
Here are some quick facts on one of Calkin PA’s founding employees:
Grew up: Fair Oaks, CA – a Sacramento native
Favorite part of public affairs: Watching how messaging and strategies come together to meet individual client needs
Cause close to her heart: Supporting organizations that help homeless children
Fun fact: Dani is a true crime podcast enthusiast
Favorite work memory: Late-night election parties when the work they have done leads to a winning outcome
Dani embodies loyalty and someone who values relationships. She recalls often when Kelly hired her, saying that he “Needed her to know what he needed, before he knew he needed it.” And needless to say, she fixes problems, takes care of issues, and manages all operational needs before they even happen.
